November 28, 2018 by Denise McGaha

Hi Friends!

Can you believe it is the week after Thanksgiving?! The time has been flying this year! Today, we are talking about another Frontgate tablescape. This theme is far from traditional. It has a more of a beachy, casual theme if you are wanting more of a relaxed look for your holiday table this year. As always, if you love the items, they are linked below the images as well as at the end of the post! Enjoy!

FRONTGATE TABLE DESIGN – PART 2

November 15, 2018 by Denise McGaha

Thanksgiving is only a week away and I am planning my holiday tablescapes this weekend to help make entertaining a breeze!  I hope you all enjoyed the first tablescape I posted last week.

As I mentioned, I had the pleasure of working with Frontgate to create 4 beautiful tablescapes for the holidays! I will be posting one a week and today I am featuring the second table design here. It is important to have the perfect table for entertaining and this one is a rustic, casual vibe. If you love the look, click on the links under each photo or any of the images towards the bottom of the post to see the product!  You still have time to pull it all together for a polished holiday table!

DENISE MCGAHA FOR CURREY & CO LAUNCH AT HIGH POINT

November 13, 2018 by Denise McGaha

A career dream came true last month in High Point, NC when I launched my first lighting collection with Currey & Co.  I have been a long time customer and have specified their product in my projects for years.  Our relationship grew as I became their brand ambassador several years ago.  The relationship of licensee and licensor was such a natural progression and it has been a true joy to work with the entire team at Currey.

My collection with Currey & Co. began long ago, and it began with sketches. I have held a file of sketches and photos for years, waiting to find the right partner to birth my vision.  This is the first step to get a licensed collection. You can see where it all started below:

These sketches eventually turned into the real thing! Here are the items in my line with Currey & Co.

I hope you love my collection as much as I do and you can shop it all HERE at Currey!

Denise

BOOK REVIEW: CONTEMPORARY CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE

October 2, 2018 by Denise McGaha

I love Fall and all of the new design book releases.  I recently received a copy of  John Murray’s new book, Contemporary Classical Architecture. It is definitely a must read! John is a well-known architect and is known for mixing classical design elements with more contemporary living.  I love how his work is clearly timeless and rooted in the classical design, yet he seems to breathe a fresh air into a space by combining contemporary elements to make each space seem perfect for today.

Contemporary Classical Architecture: John B. Murray, written by Elizabeth Heilman Brooke Murray, published by The Monacelli Press, 2018

In his new book, fifteen new residences are shared and as you read, you will see a keen eye for scale. John B. Murray is the principal architect at his firm, John B. Murray Architect. The firm is based in New York and “focuses in city and country residences designed within a classical framework.” He studied at Carnegie Mellon University and worked with Albert Hadley before started his own firm – it’s evident in each space those Hadley inspirations.

Here is a sneak peek of some of the beautiful spaces you will find in his new book…

RECAP: WHAT’S NEW WHAT’S NEXT WITH CURREY & CO.

October 1, 2018 by Denise McGaha

If you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure you saw some highlights from my New York trip for What’s New, What’s Next. I was so excited to be able to share a sneak peek of four pieces from my collection with Currey & Co., and we will be debuting the entire collection next week at High Point Market. I can’t wait to share it all with you there and if you can’t make it, I promise several blog posts to share the entire story of how I brought this collection to life.

I have also included some fun party pics which included a Facebook LIVE session with the ladies at The House of Funk!  Great questions about our (Barry Goralnick is also launching this Fall with Currey) collections and the inspiration for them.
