I was recently invited to be part of the Innovation In Preservation Forum hosted by Veranda this past May in Charleston, South Carolina. The forum was filled with designers, manufacturers and professionals in the field, and started with Clinton Smith, the Editor in Chief of Veranda, hosting a discussion where we talked about all parts of innovation in preservation.
We also got a chance to tour fascinating historical sites while in Charleston. We visited The Roper House, The Nathaniel Russell House Museum, and The Aiken-Rhett House Museum.
Here are just a few outtakes from my trip:
The perfect end to our tour was at the beachfront home of Amelia Handegan – Southern style and grace personified.
My favorite part of this tour included the education I received in historical preservation. I have often thought I knew so much, but after this trip, realized I have only scratched the surface. A big thank you to Veranda, Clinton Smith and Sean Sullivan for inviting me to attend. Truly, one of my favorite memories in 2017.
