I was so anxious to get my hands on this book, I watched the delivery notifications to see when it arrived. I was of course out of town and had to wait until I got home to open the box. Over the past few weeks it’s been my nighttime reading.
I have an extreme love for Frank O. Gehry and when I read the forward he wrote for Paul Wiseman’s beautiful design book, “Inner Spaces” it made me love him even more. Not often do you find an architect and interior designer who work hand in hand to create and appreciate one another’s work. This requires a lack of ego, an understanding of boundaries and a true spiritual bond akin to marriage.
Paul Wiseman is know as a collaborator and his projects show it. A true dance between client, architect and designer and the results are magical.
The Wiseman Group designs properties for very private clients. It is so wonderful to work with clients who have no agenda, whose homes will only be seen by their closest friends and family and have no desire to be in the public eye. The only thing better is when they love their designer so much they want to be part of a book sharing his work. The story of the relationship that brought them the home they love, honored forever in print. So prepare yourself to see homes never before seen and homes opened up to share the love created by a designer, client and architect.
Pauls’ bath in his Marin County home, built originally in 1921 for Dr. Florence Nightingale Ward and lovingly restored by Paul and team.
You can buy your own copy of Inner Spaces HERE. A great addition to your collection. Trust me.
