After the events in Boston yesterday and the tragedy that ensued there I just can’t seem to find the words to blog today. And this morning, Little Miss M cried before she left for school. She wanted to feel safe and just wanted to stay home and snuggle all day.
Tragedies like the one at the Boston Marathon can shake us to our core and make us want to retreat. We want to retreat to our safe place. For my daughter, that safe place today was in her Mommy’s arms just being hugged. For me, it’s coming home each night and curling up on my sofa after tucking in my little ones. The lamp light is perfect. The candle is lit and my puppies are next to me. Mr. M is across the room and we are having easy conversation and everything is right in my world.
Yesterday, that was taken away for Little Miss M. She was scared. And scared that her Mommy was leaving town for another business trip. “Was that place close to where you are going Mommy”?, was her first question.
I hope you have time today to hug the ones you love and be grateful for the safety we have in our lives.
