As I mentioned yesterday, last week was a really fun week. I have been waiting with baited breath to attend The Journey to Getting Published Camp with Tobi Fairley April 7-11 (DETAILS HERE). I know that even after two years of intense training with Tobi, I would leave with even more contacts, great ideas and more about getting my design work published.
Of course the #1 goal here is to receive recognition for your design work when getting published. It gives your work credibility and increases your reach to potential clients. Getting your work published is also a great thank-you to your clients. Our projects often take years and to be able to capture the beauty in a photograph which can them be shared with the world is a wonderful way to capture a family’s home for not only them, but for future generations.
Having professional photographs also helps when selling your home. Your home is often shown in it’s absolute best light and I love giving a beautiful bound book of photographs to our clients once a photoshoot is complete.
With all of that being said, just before I leave for Getting Published Camp, I will be able to say we have had a great month of Getting Published here at DMI. Last week, our Yellow Showhouse Kitchen caught the eye of West Elm and was included in their color crush blog post on Marigold.
Susanna Salk has also decided to include our kitchen in her upcoming book “Decorate Fearlessly”!! I am so so excited to be sharing the pages of Susanna’s next book with so many other amazing designers.
We were also featured on Doodle Home’s blog. If you haven’t checked out Doodle Home to source furnishings and products for your next design project, you are missing out. Take a look at their website and let me know what you think!!
Thanks so much to all of you for your support with the press we received last week. I got so many personal calls and emails of congratulations and it just made my week a very, very happy one.
