Our beautiful live Christmas tree
I have been away from the blog since Tuesday because…well I have been swamped.

Preparing our home for a Christmas party, drapery installations, wrapping presents, and most importantly, putting all of the business aside to spend time with my little ones.
After the tragic news of this week from Connecticut I wanted nothing more than to hug my children tight and spend time talking to them about what happened. We often plan our lives, but certain events can come and de-rail them. This was the theme of our family discussions and I feel so blessed that I have been given every minute I have with my family and children. My 9-year old slept in our bed last night and instead of taking her up to her room, I let her stay.
On Saturday, after a big event here in my home Friday evening, I took the time for a cup of tea and planning for 2013. We have many great things on the agenda including exciting changes to our blog. I also plan to pick up my e-book again and begin putting the finishing touches so prepare it for release online in 2013. We have several large scale projects that will come to completion in 2013 and we will have the opportunity to photograph them. I am photographing my home in 2013 after our months of remodel and I look forward to submitting it for publication next year. I have opportunities for projects out-of-state and will be traveling for those projects next year. I also have plans to work with my mentor, Tobi Fairley, in making big changes to our “Designing with a Deadline” offerings for clients.
So as you can see, between design projects, photoshoots and travel, this is going to be a big year. If I don’t plan a few getaways for our family now, I may end up frazzled and worn down. As a result, I am also planning trips NOW with our family traveling and relaxing. I can’t wait to share the exciting things in store for our clients and blog readers and I am so thankful you are all here faithfully reading and supporting my efforts.
Happy Sunday!!! What plans do you have for 2013? Have the recent events in Connecticut changed your view of how you will spend your time over the next year?
