Mr. Beckley Presents: Timothy Oulton

September 25, 2012

When British designer Timothy Oulton arrived to Dallas, I was out of town.  What an opening I missed!  So Mr. Beckley and I were invited over for a private tour of the showroom showcasing rustic design, recycled materials, great design sense and well-thought-out retail space.

Not a detail has been missed and when I first arrived, the Beatles “Yellow Submarine” was playing from the aquarium in front.  Whimsy and style – check.

I was offered a glass of cucumber-infused water in the in-store cafe.  Union Jack napkin and straw included.  They also offer fresh baked goods supplied locally, as well as fresh flowers for a quick bouquet if you need one.  The cafe is open for coffee and goodies daily and if you picked up a little floral gift on your way out, I guarantee success when you land at your next stop.

Even the ladies room had style….and lots of it.  And an amazing candle burning (more on that later).  You know my obsession with black and brass.  It was right at home here.

Mr. Beckley took a fancy to the leather furniture models…..they were just his size (Hint hint…dog beds ready made).  Comfortable and deep. There were so many leather furniture options available, it made my head spin.  Mr. Beckley found his favorite chair, as he always does.

While Mr. Beckley was canoodling with Jessica Hasten, I was busy coveting her desk with all the hidden storage.  Who could resist all those hidden cubbies to tuck away all the normal desk clutter?

There are also a number of out-of-print books on the bookshelves and I found a couple for my library that I don’t have.  I also loved the always creative displays presented by Timothy Oulton.  From book wrapped columns, to sports themes and more, this showroom is truly eye candy for the creative soul.
