Mr. Beckley Presents: Richard O’Reagan, President of Delta Brizo

September 11, 2012

While attending Fashion Week as a guest of Brizo last week, Mr. Beckley and I had the opportunity to meet and interview Richard O’Reagan, President of Delta Faucet Company, and the Brizo line.

Mr. Beckley and Richard were instantly smitten with one another and our interview included so many interesting topics, including Richard’s own canine family members.

Mr. B:  Thanks so much for inviting us to join you for a trip fllled with fashion and learning more about the Brizo brand.  How exactly did Brizo end up at Fashion Week?

RO’R:  You know, you are our first dog guest  for Brizo Fashion Week and my first dog interview.  For the past six years we have been a part of Fashion Week.  It is critical for us to engage with the design community and we knew Fashion Week would be the perfect opportunity to engage with designers in a more intimate setting and secure our foothold in the fashion industry.

Mr. B:  Is that why you have a relationship with Jason Wu?

RO’R:  Our relationship blossomed out of the idea that fashion is a lifestyle.  Since 2006, Brizo has been Jason Wu’s primary sponsor and has supported his fashion shows at New York Fashion Weeks.  Collaborating with Jason was a natural nex step for us.  The Jason Wu for Brizo collection demonstrates that fashion can be achieved at home.  Ours are both luxury brands with the same design vision:  timeless style that is innovative and fresh.

Mr. B:  There has been lots of talk about fashion in the plumbing industry.  Do you see your Brizo line and the Jason Wu collection as Couture or Ready-to-Wear?

RO’R:  ((Big smile))  While Brizo and the Jason Wu line is definitely couture quality, it is accessible to all.  A company like Brizo needs a statement piece to elevate the brand; however, it can also be designed for many to enjoy.

The mode of aspect of the Brizo brand is working to become a reflection of your personality.

Mr. B:  I can tell you love dogs.  How many dogs are in your life?

RO’R:  We have three Shiloh Shepards who own us, not the other way around.

Mr. B:  What faucet fills the water bowls in your household for your Shiloh’s?

RO’R:  I have had, in the past, the Delta Trinsic, which is the brother to the Brizo Solna faucet.

Delta Trinsic Faucet

Brizo Solna Faucet

It features contemporary lines with a pulldown sprayer.   Now we have a prototype Delta faucet.  We are currently testing the next generation of innovation and this faucet will be as groundbreaking as Smart Touch and Touch2o technology were.  The technology on this prototype has great relevance to our dogs safety and being well cared for every time they take a drink.

We look forward to the continued innovation from the design team at Brizo and know that with Richard O’Reagan at the helm, there will be massive, design-influenced success.

A HUGE thanks to Richard O’Reagan for his time and interview.  I loved getting to know Richard and can’t wait to share with my readers the latest and greatest in plumbing innovation that Richard promises with their new faucet.
