I must admit that while I preach about organization and being prepared, I felt a little frazzled this weekend while preparing my little ones for back-to-school. I have been so absorbed in several work projects that just snuck up on me. The little McG’s are attending a new school this year and are very excited, but I have lots of adjustments to make as our old school was very small and most everything was on paper. Their new school is much larger, a much higher technology quotient (to the point where my son has an all digital classroom) and has lots of online forms and payment systems.
After conquering all of those details over the weekend, I felt SO much better. I often see this same type of relief on my client’s faces when I present a detailed plan for their project. Here is a note I received recently from a client:
CLIENT: Now that the kids are back-to-school, I would like to plan to re-do our dining room and family room furnishings and drapery in time for the holidays. Have I waited too long? Can you help me in time for December entertaining?
ME: Yes…..if we start now. As you know, it takes at least 2 weeks for me to design your space and 6-8 weeks for the furniture to be made. But with a proper plan and using our timeline format, we can have it all designed and delivered by December 15th.
If you are feeling frazzled and have a design project that you can’t imagine completing in time, make a detailed plan, or call our firm for a consultation. We can “Design with a Deadline” for any project you have.
