I am back home after a fun filled weekend away in Austin. Sometimes all you need to really feel creative again is a short break and a change of scenery….and time with friends. We had a stowaway by the name of Rivers. He had a great time too.
A weekend away was perfect and when you are designing projects constantly, sometimes you lose your vivre……you know..you feel a little empty and you need to re-fill the well. The best way to complete a project on a deadline for me is to have tons of great ideas to pull from and I always need a little travel (and row after row of food trucks) to inspire me again.
We spent Saturday in Austin and had dinner with my interior designer friend Laura Britt and her hubby of Laura Britt Design.
Laura also has a great sustainable furniture line, Vervano, and just hearing about her projects and new designs was so exciting.
Here a few of Laura’s pieces, which will be available soon through Denise McGaha Interiors…SO EXCITING!
I also had a chance to spend time with friends Scott and Heather Harkovich, who own Heather Scott Home and Design in Austin.
They are working on a new store location and you can follow along on Heather’s blog here.
Heather will also appear on the TLC show Four Houses soon, so if you are in Austin and need great furniture now, make sure you drop by for a visit.
Mr. M and I loved our time away and time with friends. I am lucky to have a partner who also likes to shop. Here are a few of the great inspiring pieces we found on our weekend away. This trip was a great shortcut to new inspiration.
