This week our Deadline Dilemma is a great question rearding a bath remodel…
Client: We are ready to remodel our bathroom now and after much discussion, we are just struggling with whether to keep our bathtub in the master. What’s your advice? We can’t decide!
Me: Assuming your master bath is on the first floor, I can answer this question with another question. Do you have another bathtub on the first floor? If so, then you can just have a shower in the master. If not, I would recommend going back in with a free standing soaker tub instead of a large deck mounted tub. Of course, your floor plan and layout will determine exactly how to act, but with resale in mind, I like to keep at least one bathtub on the first floor.
I personally could never live without a tub in the master bath because I have a ritual of taking long, hot baths to relax. Someone who may purchase your home could feel the same way, but I am going with soakers and not tubs with jets. I also like air tubs that deliver small champagne-like bubbles.
But, if you like a shower-only bath, this shower fits the bill. And, if you are having a shower only, get the works with a rainhead, body sprays, or both!
