Today I am leaving for New York to attend Kravet’s Blogfest 2012.
To say I am excited is an understatement!!! Blogfest 2012 is a three day tour featuring editors of the top shelter magazines. The itinerary is amazing with speakers like Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Digest, Margaret Russell, Editor-in-Chief of Veranda, Dara Caponigro, Editor-in-Chief Ann Maine of Traditional Home, Editor-in-Chief Newell Turner of House Beautiful, and Editor-in-Chief Michael Boodro, of Elle Decor. I will start my experience Monday afternoon at the Kips Bay Showhouse and have an opportunity to snap pics to share with you in upcoming blog posts. Oh by, oh boy, oh boy! I just cannot contain my excitement.
We will also hear from the likes of Keith Granet, Author of “The Business of Design” and Interior Designers Thom Felicia, Miles Redd, Jon Call, Jill Goldberg, Michael Herold, Timothy Whealon, Darryl Carter and Alexa Hampton. OK – these are my design IDOLS. I don’t think you understand what it feels like to type all of these names in one sentence and know I will be hearing from them in a matter of hours. Go ahead and explore each of the links here and see the incredible body of work these designers have created. It is so inspiring and frankly overwhelming that I can only aspire to such design greatness.
There are also wonderful sponsors along with Kravet, LeeJofa and Brunshwig and Fils, including Savoir Beds, Savant, Baccarat, Wilsonart, Lauderee, GE Monogram, NY Spaces Magazine, Benjamin-Moore, and The New Traditionalists.
Wrap this experience up with seeing my great friends and bloggers in the design community like Traci Zeller, Stacy Naquin, Shelly Rosenberg, Kim Hoegger, Karen Davis, Kandrac and Kole, Scott Meacham Wood, Lisa Mende and Shay Geyer. I can’t wait to meet new friends and have the experience of a lifetime.
I have died and gone to heaven, thanks to my great friends at Kravet and I am so grateful. Follow me on Twitter @denisemcgaha to keep up with all the wonderful details of my trip.
Wheels up – here I come NYC!
