High Point Market Frenzy

It’s frenetic around here today.  All of those last minute details for design and construction projects have to be complete before I hop on a plane EARLY tomorrow morning and head to High Point.

I rushed around this morning to a few construction sites to finalize stair railings, paint and wood stain samples.

It will all be done when I return on Thursday of next week and there is no turning back now…..eeek!  So excited.

I am also over the moon because this High Point market includes several “firsts” for me.  I have been named a High Point Style Spotter along with many of my favorite designers, bloggers and design celebrities.

This means I will be making my way to many of the great showrooms in High Point and pinning my TOP trends and designs to my HPMKT Pinterest Board.  PLEASE FOLLOW NOW if you haven’t already so you can see the latest and greatest from High Point.  Want more details on what it means to be a Style Spotter – check out this great post from my friend Lisa Mende.

I will also be speaking for the first time at High Point at the Antiques and Design Center on Monday at 4:00pm.

If you are at market, please, please, please drop by at the end of the day Monday and take a load off.  I will be sharing how YOU can Design with a Deadline using antiques and I will be highlighting not only my favorite stops for vintage and antique items in High Point, but also a few of my finds from my recent trip to Italy shopping with The Antiques Diva and Co.  This is my first time to speak at High Point and I would love to see you there.

Make sure you are following me on Instagram and Facebook and Twitter for all those party pics.  I will be posting there as well.  For now I am signing off to put last minute touches on a presentation for a client and pack….oh yeah.  There’s that….

Mercanteinfiera – Mid-Century Italian Antiques in Parma

If you read my last post on our first day in Parma, you got a taste of the traditional architecture we experienced.  But the amazing modern and Art Deco antiques available in Parma were beyond my expectations.  Lots of great 70s era items too!IMG_5885

IMG_5971If you can multiply the beauty of my photos by 1000, that’s the actual beauty of these pieces.  The camera can’t replace real life, but I wanted to you get a small taste of what we experienced.  I have 20 times more photos than what I have shown here.  The time I spent in Parma wasn’t enough.  I will be back.

Mercanteinfiera – Chairs, Chairs and more Chairs

While I was in Parma, Italy shopping Mercanteinfiera, I fell in love with the beautiful chairs I found.  But here’s the problem….there were so many!!  I loved them all and I haven’t shown any of them to clients yet because I want them to buy them all.  Every. Single. One.  If you think I didn’t leave the fair wishing I could have brought them all home with me, you are wrong.

For a girl who Designs with a Deadline, making decisions on the fly is my forte’.  I struggled more than usual and I think you will see why::

So which one is your favorite?
