Three women shaped my life in ways they may never know.  They taught me perserverance, hope, determination, love, and blessed me with beauty.  I think they are the most beautiful women, both inside and out.  So today my blog post is dedicated to them.

My Grandmother Ely

My Grandmother Jackson

I would not be the woman I am today without my Mother and Grandmothers.   Happy Mother’s Day to all of you and I hope I one day my children can say the same about me.  It is my privelege to be a Mom and it is the hardest and most fulfilling job I have.

Happy Sunday to Moms everywhere!

Where did April go?  After looking back at my travel calendar, I know why I don’t remember much.  What a blur!

I started the month out with a trip to Little Rock for Tobi Fairley’s “Getting Published Camp”.

Then it was back to Dallas for a 3 day e-book Conference.  There is no way to make these hotel conference rooms chic….I am convinced.

Thrift Studio for Dwell with Dignity in Dallas, sponsored by One Kings Lane and many others.

One Kings Lane Vignette

Off to High Point, NC for High Point Furniture Market for 6 days (more posts to come on this big trip on the blog).

Amanda Nisbet Book Signing back in Dallas at Laura Lee Clark’s new showroom.

Then back home for a few days before heading to New York for 2 days.  What fun with Ronda Carman at Martha Stewart Omnimedia for the book signing of “Designers at Home”.  I also managed to fit in a mini-client meeting while in the city.

And don’t forget my Curated Sale for Joss and Main this past week.  What fun that was and thanks to all of you who shopped!!

I am finally home for a few weeks before leaving again and I am so grateful.  I spent most of yesterday resting in bed and working on my laptop.  I downloaded over 2000 images from my camera and wrote a Branding Presentation for my design firm.  My favorite part of the day however was when my little ones came in at different times to snuggle and have long coversations about their lives.

I miss my family so much when I travel and Mr. M is a real trooper to hold down the fort while I am racking up the frequent flier miles.  Here’s to all those husbands who support us in pursuing our dreams.  My man is the best.

I also spent time yesterday scheduling personal travel for summer.  I am so excited about our upcoming trips and can’t wait to spend time relaxing and enjoying friends and family.

Fly fishing

There will be lots of beach time in my future and I can’t wait for more travel to inspire me for new projects I have coming up.  I am so grateful for my life and my amazing family.  Need to start shopping for that ultra large beach hat to save my super-white skin!!

Rosemary Beach, FL

British Virgin Islands

I hope you enjoyed a relaxing weekend too!  What are your plans for summer – anything fun?

Happy Sunday!
