I can’t help it.  I LOVE a black and white combination.  In fashion.  In Home.  You??

So the next time I am looking for just the perfect color scheme for a design project, I think black and white will be the simple solution.  Designed with a Deadline is as simple as that.

My Friday Focus post today is on giving back and the news is out!!  Dwell with Dignity has announced their Thrift Studio event and this year it is being held in conjuction with One Kings Lane.  I am so excited for the Dwell with Dignity family and this great opportunity!

Here are the highlights:

Dwell with Dignity, a Dallas-based non-profit organization founded by interior designers dedicated to creating inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty, is partnering with One Kings Lane, the leading online destination for the home, for Dwell with Dignity’s biannual fundraiser, Thrift Studio. This 30-day pop-up shop provides financial support to Dwell with Dignity’s cause by offering a spectacular value on gently used furniture, housewares, accessories and designer finds presented to the public in beautifully styled vignettes.

As the title sponsor, One Kings Lane is co-hosting a special Preview Party on April 18th at the Dallas Design Center offering the public an early peek at Dwell with Dignity’s first Thrift Studio of 2013. One Kings Lane Co-Founder and Chief Merchandising Officer Susan Feldman will be the special host for the evening. Guests wanting the very first opportunity to purchase these treasures can do so at the VIP Champagne Reception from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. for a ticket price of $175. Preview Party tickets are $125 for guests arriving at 7 p.m. VIP Reception and Preview Party attendees will have the earliest access to shop and view the designer-styled vignettes before the store officially opens to the public the next day.

I am so excited to also announce the Featured designers at Thrift Studio (I am good friends with several of these great designers and they will NOT disappoint!):

One Kings Lane

DJ Lucy Wrubel for Peacock Alley

IBB Design Fine Furnishings

Square Foot Studio

Studio Ten 25

William-Christopher Design

The shopping doesn’t end after the party. One Kings Lane’s special Thrift Studio Tastemaker Tag Sale will launch online the following morning – April 19th at 10 a.m. CDT at The 72-hour online sale will feature select products from the Thrift Studio vignettes as well as items generously donated by participating designers. All proceeds from the Preview Party and Tastemaker Tag Sale benefit Dwell with Dignity.

The Thrift Studio Preview Party and Thrift Studio Pop-Up Shop will be located in the Dallas Design Center at 1100 Slocum Street, Suite 590. Thrift Studio Pop-Up Shop will be open to the public from April 19 – May 18, 2013 Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays noon to 5:30 p.m.

Other Preview Party sponsors include Doug Boster Catering, DJ Lucy Wrubel, Horchow, IBB Design Fine Furnishings, Jean Liu Designs, Ketel One, Massoud Furniture and Whole Foods Market Lakewood.

Sooooo – now you have the scoop.  Buy your tickets early friends.  The VIP party is amazing too, so make sure you get a ticket to buy these great home furnishings.  I bought the greatest lamp there and I kept getting phone calls last year with people wanting to buy the lamp from me after I had already purchased it.  It was coveted by many.  Don’t miss this!!

I am so excited to share my new Pinterest SHARED board with Tobi Fairley.  As a Deluxe Mastermind Member, I am given (along with the other Deluxe MM Members) a wonderful opportunity to share a Pinterest board with Tobi and she and I pin to it regularly.  The benefit to my business is that I get to share my design aesthetic with all of Tobi’s great Pinterest followers.  And if you don’t follow her boards you are MISSING OUT.  This woman is a fountain of creativity and whenever I am stumped, I just visit Tobi’s boards.  Problem solved and often no more Deadline Dilemma.

Make sure you check it out and see how creative you feel!!

P.S.  Tonight is my Designer Showcase Vignette reveal at Pettigrew!!  Hope I see you there!!
