Archive for December, 2012
I am so excited about New Years Eve because I have big plans…….to do nothing!!! I have scheduled my favorite masseusse for Mr. M and myself here at home and plan to relax and finish up planning for 2013.
While there is no shortcut to health, I felt like starting off relaxed and pampered would be the best place to start. I have created a few deadlines for my health goals and things should be off to a great start by June. I also have a few rewards in store for my goals being achieved that include travel to a sunny locale…..hows that for Designing (my health) with a Deadline?
Then there are the black-eyed peas. It’s our tradition to start the New Year with a healthy helping of black-eye peas for luck. That and my homemade cornbread snuggled in by the fire….I almost can’t wait!
What are your plans? Are you ready for an amazing year full of laughter, growth, challenges and accomplishments? Let me know your plans in the comments – I would love to hear from you!!
I love the week between Christmas and New Year’s. It’s often a time of reflection and planning for me. While I have been working, I have also scheduled time for renewal with a facial and mani/pedi.
Part of what makes “Designing with a Deadline” successful for my firm and our clients includes proper planning. In order to plan for our client projects, we also need to plan other important time into our schedule. This includes time for self-care (a huge focus thanks to great direction from my mentor Tobi Fairley), marketing, design-time, education, travel to furniture markets, etc., etc.
I will start planning this weekend and start filling in our calendar, both personal and work. Planning this far in advance also means setting those big, bad goals for the year. This is my favorite part because I am also able to look back at the goals we had for 2012 and see that we had several big successes this year. I want to do a vision board a little something like this:
I hope you have a wonderful “countdown to the New Year” and I can’t wait to share some of the big things we have planned for 2013.
