When designing my Home of Tomorrow Living Room, I had the opportunity to work with Katherine Hable one of the sisters known as Hable Construction

If you haven’t heard about the wonderful textiles created by this great Texas-born team, read moreHERE

In one phone conversation to discuss style and design, I fell in love with these ladies.  I met them for the first time last year at High Point furniture market where they designed a line of fabrics for Hickory Chair.

LOVE LOVE LOVE what they have done to make my Hickory Chair pieces seem so fresh.   I have used wing chairs in the family room with their fabrics in a great graphic and sphere pattern called Pom Pom.

I also used their fabrics on the drapery and pillows in the living room,

and again on the orange sofa pillows.

I also used one of their great baskets to store items in the Mom’s desk area.

Come see how I have used these fun fabrics in The Remodeled Home of Tomorrow and when you do, make sure you look up as you pass through the doors.  There is a Hable Construction lucky horsehoe over the door to fill the space with lots of good luck.

And don’t forget, all of the furniture and accessories, including drapery and pillows are for sale.  Just contact me HERE for more information.

Hickory Chair, fabulous friends of Denise McGaha Interiors, have partnered with us to deliver the beautiful furnishings in our Home of Tomorrow at the State Fair of Texas.  The home is open through the fair until October 23rd and if you haven’t been, you are missing out!  Did I mention all the furniture in the homes is for sale, NOW?  HERE for more info on how to buy.

So when Hickory Chair came on board and I was selecting the perfect pieces for our home, we also worked with Glen Boudreaux of Boudreaux Associates to furnish his home as well.  At The Home of Tomorrow you will see how Glen and I chose several of the same pieces from Hickory Chair, yet they look completely different because of the finishes we chose.

Hickory Chair offers designers the flexibility of thousands of fabrics that can be applied to their frames, as well as over 20 finish options.  I can take the same chest and create it to look different for every client.  I love their flexibility and the ability to go from traditional, to continental, to transitional all with minor changes.  And the best part???  A 4-week turnaround!!!  Unheard of in the world of custom furnishings.  That means there is still time for holiday furnishings orders, but you need to hurry!

So what are you waiting for?  Get out to the Fair and see for yourself how I have used Hickory Chair to create a custom look for our Home of Tomorrow.  And look forward to some behind the scenes scoop about what Hickory Chair has in store for us in High Point at the end of the month.  I can’t wait to share whats coming!!

Color in the Kitchen

Have you ever wanted to bring color into the kitchen but been a little nervous about getting tired of it?  Well, I have done it for you and given you a chance to try out living in a space full of color.

I had such a great time pulling together the bold color scheme for my Home of Tomorrow kitchen.  The bright yellow range and fabric covered backsplash were meant to be a large statement the minute you arrived.

Would you have the guts to put this range in your kitchen?  It’s the Bertazzoni range that I saw about a year ago and just knew I would use some day.

I think it’s so important to balance pattern and color with a soothing palette and I am loving how grey balances so many of the great colors I love.  I chose Benjamin Moore for all of my paint colors in the home and layered grey wall color, cabinetry, drapery and tile.  You have to see it!!!  Some come out the The Home of Tomorrow at the State Fair of Texas and experience what true color in the kitchen is all about.  I will be there this weekend to answer all your questions and give you behind the scenes scoop on my designs for the home.
